Homemade Chocolate Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup cocoa butter (or coconut oil)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
Melt the Cocoa Butter:
- In a double boiler (or a heatproof bowl over simmering water), melt the cocoa butter gently until it’s completely liquid. If using coconut oil, melt it in the same way.
Mix the Ingredients:
- Remove the melted cocoa butter from heat. Stir in the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth and fully combined.
Taste and Adjust:
- Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or flavoring as needed.
Mold the Chocolate:
- Pour the chocolate mixture into silicone molds or a lined baking dish. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Chill:
- Place the molds in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours, or until the chocolate is firm.
Remove and Store:
- Once solid, remove the chocolate from the molds. Store in an airtight container in a cool place.
Optional Add-ins
- Nuts: Add chopped nuts for crunch.
- Dried Fruit: Include dried fruits for sweetness.
- Spices: Experiment with cinnamon, chili powder, or sea salt for unique flavors.
Enjoy your homemade chocolate!
