How to prepare Beef Tacos

Here’s a simple recipe for Beef Tacos :

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • Toppings:
    • Shredded lettuce
    • Diced tomatoes
    • Shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
    • Sour cream
    • Salsa
    • Sliced jalapeños (optional)
    • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Cook the Beef:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the chopped onion and sauté until softened (about 3-4 minutes).
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon (about 5-7 minutes).
  4. Drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in the taco seasoning, and add a splash of water (about 1/4 cup) to help distribute the seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

2. Warm the Tortillas:

  • In a separate skillet or on a grill, warm the tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable. You can also wrap them in foil and warm them in the oven.

3. Assemble the Tacos:

  1. Place a generous spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each tortilla.
  2. Top with your choice of shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa, jalapeños, and cilantro.

4. Serve:

  • Enjoy your delicious Beef Tacos immediately!

Tips

  • Make it spicy: Add diced chilies or hot sauce to the beef mixture for extra heat.
  • Customize your toppings: Feel free to add avocado, black beans, or corn for more flavor and texture.

Enjoy your tasty beef tacos!
